To those in the north, however, it is a marvel: a being shaped by the crystals themselves into a near perfect form, and whose zeal to spread the Prismae's power is inspirational.

Long ago, Nautilus had been a fisherman by his friend Xerath's side. Together the two discovered a mass of powerful crystals, and greed drove his comrade to cast Nautilus into the water to drown. A single crystal sustained him and, as he slumbered, corrupted and empowered his body and mind. But even this could not destroy his strongest desire—revenge.

Once a humble fisherman, Xerath returned from a voyage with a multitude of magical crystals in tow. Their power elevated him to become a leader of his people, ushering in what he hoped would be a new era of the Prismae Crystals' rule. But the cost of such power damaged his mind, leaving him suspicious that no thoughts are to be trusted… even his own.

Motus was a world bound to magic, but after the purge, everything collapsed. Centuries later, civilization is scattered, nature has reclaimed the cities, and magic's back in the form of Prismae Crystals. Leona knows what caused the purge: blasphemy. Magic's disappearance was retribution for humanity's arrogance and misuse of it. As a worshipper of the Prismae Crystals, she believes it's her sacred duty to protect them. But she also prays to them in secret, hoping they'll bring back her lost love, Diana, who disappeared after journeying to the north.

When the Prismae Crystals began to appear, everyone on Motus reacted differently. Locked to their island, Taliyah's people viewed them not as a threat, but as an extension of nature.
